View Full Version : Problems with ASUS P7P55D Series Motherboards
So the mobo was ok ! The new one did the same thing... It really a problem of driver. They aren't compatible with the ASUS P7P55D series...
We swap the HDD, the mobo (P7P55D-E to P7P55D), power supply, ram, processor... When we swap of PC with another brand of mobo, no problem !
Will you make an update of driver for this about the P7P55D series of mobo from ASUS ?

There is definately a problem with the Asus P7P55D motherboard series, I have the P7P55D LE and both the fast track and Delta 1010LT crackle like crazy in both recording and playback. I tried them both on an older computer and there is no problem.
3TnT, can you tell me what motherboard worked with it at the computer store? I need to buy a new one as I know this won't get resolved by either Asus or m-audio. This is a major problem...
We have been getting several reports about issues with this motherboard and we are looking into it. The problem seems to be a combination of particular versions of the I series processor and this motherboard. Can any of you that are experiencing this issue please post exactly what version of the processor you have tried
This is my setup :
ASUS P7P55D-E LGA1156 P55 DDR3 2PCI-E16 3PCI-E1 2PCI CrossFireX USB3.0 SATA 6GB Motherboard

Thanks. I will forward the information on to engineering.
Thanks ! Do you know when we will get feedback about that ? Or a driver update ?
I have no information about that. I will try to keep you posted, but I can't guaranty anything.
I don't know if this can help but I got a BSOD.
I was playing music with Cubase 5 (with around 4.5 Gb of virtual instruments loaded)(I got 8 Gb of DDR3) and when I close the software, blue screen. I linked the minidump file.

I encounterd the same problem with my new ASUS P7P55D Motherboard.
On my old system there where no problems with the Delta 1010LT.
Now it is crackling all the time while playing music. It sounds as if the level is too high.
My System:
ASUS P7P55D
Intel Core I5 750 Quad Core Processor Lynnfield LGA1156 2.66GHZ 8MB
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5770Vapor-X (1 GB GDDR5)
G.Skill DIMM 4 GB DDR3-1333 Kit
Samsung HD103SJ 1TB
Cooler Master Silent Pro M500
I have seven days left, to return the mother-board to the dealer. Or can i expect, that this problem will be solved ever with a new driver?
Wich mainboard is recommended?
My choosen alternative would be the MSI P55-GD65 - but who can tell me, if it might work with this board?
It might be the graphic card HD 5770 that causes the problems!
For any answers or hints - thanks in advance.

The problem really come from the motherboard.
This thread was create with some parts of another thread i made here where i said that i did alot of change with my parts (motherboard, processor, graphic card, ram memory, bios config, system config, hard disk, power supply...). After a long testing period, M-Audio said that the driver have a problem isn't compatible with this board. They receive alot of message about that. They are working on it.
It's long to have answer and update here. I'm thinking getting a new card from another brand. BUT the driver is suppose to be update a day for this problem.

Migration successfully completed!
I took the chance and ordered another board - the MSI P55-GD65 and new Memory (Kingston ValueRAM DIMM 4 GB DDR3-1333). After removing the old board and assembling the new one i was really excited after the first boot - no crackle or pops. Then i updated to the current Bios-Version and after a new boot i almost got an heart attack. Again the delta was crackling like an damm old cpu fan.
But after disabling C1E (and some submenu options) in the bios the crackling is gone.
Now i have a perfect high speed music machine with reasonably fan noise - and playing games makes fun too!
A small goody: the S/PDIF connection of the MSI syncs at 96kHz to my Delta.
Here is my complete configuration:
* MSI P55-GD65
* Intel Core i5-750 Prozessor
* Scythe Kabuto SCKBT-1000
* Kingston ValueRAM DIMM 4 GB DDR3-1333 Kit
* Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5770Vapor-X (1 GB GDDR5)
* Samsung HD103SJ 1 TB
* LG GH-22NS
* Cooler Master Silent Pro M500
* Cooler Master CM 690
* DT 770 PRO 80 ohm

I have the same problem but only with one out-port. Port 3 crackles, no problems for the other ones.
I have an Asus P7P55D-E board with I7-processor.
I hope someone finds a fix!
Can we have an update please ! :mad:

Eureka!! I solved the crackling at the cost of losing C-state tech.
In the bios (advanced menu) I disabled C1E support and C-state tech.
My CPU still uses speedstep to clock down but the sleep-states (c-states) are not possible anymore.
Hope it helps others out too.
I still hope m-audio delivers a solution so we can use C-state tech without crackling.
More than 3 month without news !
You'll never get me back to buy a new M-Audio product !
M-Audio really don't care about the customers satisfaction...

FYI forum neighbors: Thank you all for your discussion on this. I submitted the following "incident" ticket to M-Audio support regarding pops and clicking from my Delta 1010LT on my Core i5 750/ ASUS P7P55D system:
Excessive crackling, pops, clicks during playback
The problem summary says it all. This is a newly built computer. The crackling is random but when it occurs it's very obvious and unacceptable. Recording levels are fine - even conservatively low. I have moved PCI slots, disabled on-board sound, disabled the C1E state in BIOS. I'm at a loss for options.
I also have the ASUS P7P55D motherboard which I understand from searching through the forums on your site may have some sort of compatibility problem.
I guess I have these questions;
Is this fixable from your end, e.g., a driver update?
And if so, will you commit to fixing it in the near future?
And if so, when (days?, weeks?, months?)
I'm rooting for you and I really want this product to work correctly in my system. Multi-core processors and Windows 7 64 bit are the present and near future - I hope you deem it's worth your investment in driver maintenance to keep this product viable because people aren't going to go back...
I've just got a few more days to return the Delta 1010LT to the retailer for a refund so please let me know. And please let me know if a recording with the offending crackles would be helpful to you and I will send one.
Thanks,
Chris

Return your product ! I'm waiting for 3 month without any news... And now, they stopped to answear our question ! Buy an audio interface from another company and return this one if you can ! It's the best thing to do...

All,
My particular issue seems to be resolved. After reading this post (http://forums.m-audio.com/showthread.php?4771-Delta-Audiophile-24-96-Crackling-Distortion&p=81530#post81530), I ended up disabling the Intel C-STATE in my BIOS. Recordings are pristine and crackle-free; the way they ought to be.

It's fun to have an answer from a big company like M-Audio...
You just think about the cash and nothing about de customer !
I'm in progress to pass the messages to the most people to not buy any of your products !

At this point the only issue we have identified is with the version of this motherboard with on-board graphics; the solution is to disable on board graphics and use a dedicated video card. In either case, disabling CPU Throttling and Power Saving utilities like C1E, CState, SpeedStep, etc is recommended as these can cause performance issues.

I have not gone through this thread in-depth, however I'm wondering if anyone has tested out disabling C1E state? On Core i7/i5 processors, this option in BIOS is called CPC C-State.
Also looking for Power Management features to disable, as well as disabling HPET and Intel EIST if available. I don't remember all of the Core i series updated terms for these settings, but I do believe that after some minor BIOS tweaking, the problems should go away.
