I am also having a problem with Session not starting and giving me a blank error message.
Vista Ultimate 32-bit SP1
Athlon 64 X2 6000+
4GB DDR2 800
PNY Geforce 8800GT 512MB
Soundblaster Xtreme Gamer
Producer USB 5.10.00.5099v2
Sessions 1.6.3v4
Nvidia driver 177.92
Soundblaster driver 2.18.4
Have you checked for updated video card drivers? Can you post a screen shot of the error/window?

Just to make sure, your system is recognizing the Producer USB as fully installed before launching Session, correct?

Thank you for confirming that so thoroughly! The screenshots are much appreciated.
Just to clarify, are you running an English version of Windows Vista?

I am going to uninstall and reinstall video, sound and Producer USB drivers as well as Sessions and post the results.

After doing a complete uninstall of video and audio drivers and Sessions, as well as deleting respected directories, and a complete reinstall, everything seems to be working fine. I am still unsure of what went wrong, but for now it seems to be fixed. Sigh.
Thanks for all your help.

I think I was able to pinpoint a possible cause.
The Soundblaster X-Fi software CD installes an auto-update feature. When I installed the included software from the CD everything worked fine, but after updating the software through the auto-update, the blank error message returned. Uninstalling the Soundblaster software and reinstalling from the CD fixed the problem.
I hope this helps.
Glad you figured it out! Thanks for the info!
