i'm new to using session but....

is there a way to record from the midi controller into session on input? I'm use to using FL where the recording doesn't start until I hit a key.

I believe what you are looking for is the "punch recording" feature. There should be a button for it next to the metronome. That's in session 1.5. 1.6 might have it somewhere else. Enable that, and it will start recording when you hit a key on the midi controller. :)

No, Session does not have this feature. Punch recording allows you to play a section and punch in to record over a specified range. If you recorded something and messed up one small part, you could setup to punch in and re-record only the part that was messed up.

I see..well that sucks for me, because I hate the metronome and can never start anything on time in Session, none of my melodies start at the beginning of the track. Guess I'll get it eventually....thanks for the help guys, really appreciate it.
