Alright when i record myself and then i play it back it sounds like my voice is growly/scratchy is this because of the reverb or is it something else

Have you added any effects or turned up the sends on your vocal track? If you playback any of the loops in Session do they sound distorted? What driver do you have selected in Session's Audio Configuration? Can you also update your signature with your system specs as requested in this thread (http://forums.m-audio.com/showthread.php?t=57).

Try selecting the M-Audio USB ASIO driver and see if performance improves. If not, test the Producer USB on different USB ports.
