I'd like to hook up my Logitech X-540 speaker system to my Audiophile 2496 sound card. The Audiophile only has the RCA digital 5.1 output, and the Logitech system has three 1/8" stereo plugs that are supposed to connect to the soundcard. Is there an adapter for connecting from the three plugs of the X-540 to the RCA digital connection from the Audiophile 2496?
I have a Windows XP machine, with 2 gigs of memory.
You would need an external surround decoder with a D/A converter and line level outputs to achieve this with the 24/96. I'm not familiar with home theater systems but would imagine a device such as this would be pretty expensive. If your software is capable of decoding a surround signal and sending multiple channels of audio to the sound card you could use the Delta 1010lt. However, those types of surround sound speaker systems are usually designed to be used with a consumer sound card.
