hi, right..... I've been very careful to install my M-Audio Audiophile 2496 according to instructions on the net, and it's working on my computer no problem. However, there appears to be a problem with the ASIO drivers when I try to run Cubase SX 3.

firstly, when I run Cubase it immediately comes up with a warning message saying "The ASIO Driver ASIO Multimedia Driver could not be loaded"

I've checked the FAQs, and ran through the explanation there... but whilst I get under "VST Audiobay" a drop down box showing "M-Audio Delt ASIO" where no other selection can be made in the box, in the collapse-able menus to the left under VST Audio bay (showing the route to the section I'm in) it shows "NO VALID ASIO DRIVER!".

Then, when I follow the FAQ guide, and try to add a bus under the input/output sections in "VST Connections", it shows under the Audio Device column "NO VALID ASIO DRIVER!"

Can anyone help???

thanks,

VT

Does the M-Audio Delta Control Panel open? Does the 24/96 appear in the Device Manager with a yellow question mark or exclamation point? Do any devices appear with these marks? What driver version are you using? The problem could be with Cubase as SX3 is not officially supported on Vista. Do you have any other applications to test with?

The Control Panel opens fine, and there's no yellow mark over the sound card in the device manager, there's also no yellow mark over any other device in the device manager. The driver I downloaded yesterday from M-Audio's website prior to installing the card physically... it was therefore the most up to date for this Windows OS and the 2496.

Help!!!

Have you tried disabling your built-in sound card? Have you tested the 24/96 in any other PCI slots? I would suggest testing with another ASIO application. You can download a free trial version of Ableton Live (http://www.ableton.com/free-trial) for testing; this will tell you if the problem is with the Cubase or the Audiophile.
