View Full Version : issue with 8 Gb of ram
Hi,
Is anybody using Vista 32 bit driver (5.10.00.5069v3) with 8 Gb of ram (knowing that Vista 32 only sees 4 Gb) for Delta Audiophile 2496 ? Do you have any issue so far ?
Has someone been able to have a Delta card running ok on more than 4 Gb ram physically installed on any system XP-Vista 32/64 ? ;)...I heard that card will not work if more than 4 Gb was intalled. Some said that they instlled the driver, the card and after added the extra ram.

No problems over here. Vista 64SP1 with both 4GB and 8GB of RAM. No issues.
Regarding the actual build - all the hardware (including the 8GB of RAM) was placed in the box before the OS was loaded. Drivers were installed one at a time in a specific order. Everything worked fine.
I did pull back to 4GB for now - because I have no processes that require 8GB as of yet...but I had no Delta issues for the time that 8GB was on board.

Can someone confirm if this is true? I just had mine built and do not want to touch anything yet. Had success with Delta 32bit driver with ReaperX86. I have problem with 64 bit. I installed 64 bit driver in XP64 and Reaper X86 sees the driver. I can see the demo song playing but no audio. Tried Reaper X64 and Reaper does not see the 64bit driver. I have uninstalled 64bit driver for now.
The legacy beta driver for XP64 does not work with more than 4GB of RAM.

i hate digging up old threads and all, but if the Legacy drivers don't work with the card, what drivers will work/where can we get them?
I do lots of multitrack editing with friends and for school, so I just foolishly upgraded to 6gb of RAM, and now I can't use the Delta...since I refuse to edit using the onboard audio (for sampling reasons, and bitrates) this is something I never imaged...a 64 bit driver that doesn't even work well with 64 bit.
Specs in the sig.

Same problem here: Audiophile 2496, 8Gb of RAM, WinXPx64 (not Vista!), no errors, but no sound.
New Vista64 driver (Delta_V64_Public_Beta_5.10.00.5069v3.exe) requires Vista and can not be installed.
But old Vista 64 beta (Delta_BetaV64_5.10.00.5069.zip) works for me. I can not enable "system" volume control, but it works.
