I can record my guitar however i can not play it back. My speakers are fine because i can play iTunes. I have updated both Sessions and I have Fast Track USB (updated aswell). Do i need anything else. I have GT Player.

I even tried importing the Demos thinking maybe we recorded wrong. But those wont play back either.

Your speakers need to be connected to the Fast Track USB; and the mix knob needs to be turned to the right (towards playback).

Hey LMay,

Make sure that you have the latest drivers for your new mic and when you have GT Player open, go to the preferences menu and then choose the Audio tab. For Input, you should have your mic selected (remember this will mean that you are not recording through the FT) and output set to FT. This will allow you to record using your mic and play sound back through your FT. If this is still not working, a quick start guide to the GT Player Express can be found here (http://www.m-audio.com/images/global/manuals/GTPLYR-FastTrk_QS_EN01.pdf)

You can go to the File Menu and choose "Import Audio" to import the audio file you recorded. For future recordings, try selecting the USB mic from Options>Audio Hardware and recording directly into Session.

Session with Fast Track was really designed to be used with a dynamic mic plugged into the Fast Track. The USB mic was designed to be used with a program other than Session. While it should be possible to use the USB mic w/ Session, it's not an ideal setup.

I got the USB mic to work. It works fine. But heres my next problem. I have two different computers (a laptop and a desktop). I record on the laptop but when i bring it down to open in my sessions on my desktop it gives me this: "Sessions has encountered Error ID 102. Please contact M-Audio support"

Just wondering if you could help me figure that one out.

How are you transferring the song to your desktop? Are you saving the Composition as an archive? Are you copying the audio files?

Do you have the exact same version of Session on both computers?

Yes same versions. And Im saving as an Archive then transfering. I also tried the "Export Composition" which it works but it doesnt have the seperate tracks so i can't work on each indiviudal track.

I'd like to run some tests here to see if we get the same message; however, I need more information about your system. Can you please provide the system specs requested in this thread (http://forums.m-audio.com/showthread.php?t=57); what version of Session do you have? What operating system?

I ran some tests and was able to export compositions and transfer between computers without getting any errors. I talked with our Software Verifications department and I'm told the Error 102 indicates a corrupt file, though I'm not sure how it becomes corrupt.

To resolve the issue with the one composition that isn’t opening correctly, create a new composition in Session and go to the File drop down menu. Select Import audio. Browse to the composition folder that is corrupted and import each audio file to the new composition. This should enable you to build a new song out of the tracks from the corrupted file.
