View Full Version : S/PDIF Signal Valid Input Detected, but no sound(AP24/96)
Hello,
I've been searching a lot and unfortunately didn't find nothing similar to my problem with my AP 24/96 soundcard.
I am running windows XP SP2 and everything works fine but the S/PDIF:
-I have connected my MPC's s/pdif rcas to the AP digital I/O
-I have checked S/pdif In in the Patchbay/Router
-I have checked S/pdif In in the Hardware Settings page(which it also says "Locked")
- in the Control Panel in the S/PDIF page it says S/pdif Signal Valid Input Detected
But no sound is incoming to the Monitor Mixer.
I hope that somebody could help me.
Thank you,
MPE_
Have you double checked the MPC to make sure audio is properly routed to its S/PDIF output? Was this working previously or is this the first time you've set this up? What driver version are you running?
Thanks for answering,
my driver version is 5.10.00.5057v3 and I am running Windows XP SP2 in a Intel Core 2 Duo E4500@2.20Ghz with 1.99Gb of RAM.
I have already test the MPC in a professional studio last week and we have managed to track out audio without configuring the spdif I/O of the MPC. The sound engeneedr just plug the RCAs in the MPs spdif from his Protools HD board.
The problem is that in the Digital Input S/PDIF Signal under the S/PDIF tab says "Valid Input Detected" but there is no sound! And when I disconnect the spdif cable from the MPC it turns to "Invalid or not present" and there is a big hiss sounding..
HELP!
Ok, so far I have managed to notice that actually the spdif out of the AP2496 works and can send audio via spdif to my MPC2000XL by simply routing the H/W Out S/PDIF to MonitorMixer or WavOut S/PDIF.
After this I have tried to change also the PCI slot of the soundcard and it works the same way: VALID INPUT DETECTED BUT IMPOSSIBLE TO HEAR ANY SOUND INCOMING FROM THE SPDIF IN!!!!!
Did someone already have this kind of issue on these boards?
I have sent also an email to the assistance but no response. This is so frustrating..please help..
Your settings all sound correct. To confirm, with the valid input detected and the Master Clock locked to the S/PDIF input (hardware tab); do you see any levels in the monitor mixer?
Have you previously used the S/PDIF input on the card?
Nope, no levels in the monitor mixer. No, this is the first time I have used the s/pdif on my audiophile.
Anyway I have found out that the s/pdif out of the audiophile works. The problem persists in the s/pdif in of the card.
I have also tried to uninstall and reinstall the card in the other PCI slot i have and nothing changed. IU have tried to install older drivers 5.10.00.0048...still no sound.
Help!!
2000XL with 8 ouputs expansion card and efx card installed.
In the studio where I have tracked out some beats(to Protools HD) there was no need to configure anything in the MPC cause the s/pdif output copies what goes out from the main(analog outs). The only case you have an option from digital to analogic is in the "Sample" screen in the MPC but it is only for sampling purpose(so basically influences the input, and this as I mentioned, works). Any clue? Thanks a lot!
