Hi There,

I have 4 x 1010lt's, 2 each in 2 different computers, and apart from a few pci hog issues, they have mostly run pretty well.

Recently I have wanted to free up the SPDIF inputs on the cards so I can have 20ins and outs. I purchased an external word clock generator and tried to hook it up via the 1010lts word clock connections. Unfortunately the cards wouldn't detect the work clock signal. Other devices in my studio could detect the signal. I contacted the manufacturer of the word clock device and this is what they said......

"Concerning the Delta 1010 units, the bad news is that various revisions of the 1010's had a problem with not detecting an external clock what so ever. This is a known bug that M-Audio has admitted to. You may want to contact them about that problem for a solution."

So here I am, whats the official word on this? Is there a solution or do I need to sell off my 1010lts and move onto another brand?

Thanks,

Alan

The Delta 1010 (breakout box version) has an issue where it won't sync to word clock from an Apogee Big Ben. I'm not aware of any issues with the 1010lt. I just tested and had no problem getting a 1010lt to sync to an external word clock generator.

Can you please provide more information about your computer systems as requested in this thread (http://forums.m-audio.com/showthread.php?t=14); including driver versions. What word clock generator are you using?

XP SP3
ASUS A8V Deluxe
AMD Athlon X2 4600
2Gig RAM

Not in front of my DAW right now but Delta 1010lt driver... Last one before SP3 revision.

The clock I am using is a Black Lion Audio Microclock. It synced up to 2 other devices I have in my studio but not to any of my 4 deltas.

What generator did you use??????

Thanks JA,

Alan

I was testing a single 1010lt with the latest driver (5069v3) using a Hosa Word Clock Generator. It appears your problem is driver related. I re-tested with the previous SP2 driver (5057v3) and the 1010lt would not sync to word clock. The new driver has not been qualified for multiple card sync, and does not yet include all of the multi-card sync options found in the previous driver; however, I ran some quick tests with two (2) 1010lt's and the latest driver (5069v3). Both cards were recognized and able to sync to word clock. I was also able to successfully record and playback through both cards.

Thanks JA,

I had no idea the different drivers had or didn't have all of the features. I will test the new driver out.

I do need both cards working at once, so just to clarify, you had both 1010lts synced up to word clock and working together (or at the same time)?

Thanks

Although the multi-card sync hasn't been qualified by our testing department, I did successfully sync both 1010lt's to word clock and tested them together; I was able to record and playback through both cards.
