Hi.

I have been using my Audiophile 2496 for over 1yr now. But i have ran into problems.

When i turn my PC on and play music am only getting one channel playing sound, After 15-20mins the other channel will come to life, But the sound cuts in and out and if cracking and just plan nasty sounding. But after maybe 45mins its fine and everything is working fine. But after a few weeks of this happening it is only running on 1 channel now.

I have tryed cleaning the card contacts, and phono cables and trying new drivers. My OEM soundcard works fine.

Any ideas?.

Thanks
Luke

Have you tested with different cables? Have you recently installed any new software or updates?

Yes, I have tryed a new cable. And no i didnt install any software. The soundcard somes puts my amp into "safe mode". So i need to unplug my amp from the mains and then turn it back on and its fine. Am 99% sure its the soundcard thats gone funny.

Whats the Audiophile 192 like compared to the 2496?.

Yeah, it sounds like a hardware problem w/ the 24/96. The 2 Audiophile's are pretty similar; I believe the 192 specs out a little better on paper. The 192 has balanced I/O as well as separate main and monitor output (main is only for playback from the computer and monitor plays back from the computer and directly monitors the inputs via the monitor mixer).
