2496 only working in -10Db

Hi all,
Got the soundcard 2496 for a g4 mac with the output going to the hifi and and input coming from a guitar amp. The sound will only come out when the setting is put on -10db but this is to low for me. When i change it to 0db the sound just cuts off. Would anyone know about what the problem could be.

What OS are you running? What driver? Which volume slider are you adjusting? The Software Output? The Master Volume? Do the meters still show levels?

I'm running OSX 10.3.9.

So you're toggling the Variable Signal Levels on the Hardware Settings Tab? Do the meters still show levels when you select 0dB? Does it work if you set it to 0dB before launching the application? What program are you using? Have you tested with multiple programs? What driver version are you running?
