I have a similar question.
I recently update my system with the 1010lt and I noticed that it is heavier for the system than the previous 192.
sometimes I heard cracking sounds when all the keyboards are playing.
with the 192 this didn't happen.
placing even the 192 in my system helps the CPU for a fast sound calculation or this option will end in a worst setup?
Why my CPU is not fast enough for the 1010lt?
thanks

Do you have both PCI cards installed? Are you using the 1010lt in the same PCI slot that the 192 was in? How many inputs/outputs are you running? You should be using the M-Audio Delta ASIO driver, not ASIO4ALL.

1) Do you have both PCI cards installed?
2) Are you using the 1010lt in the same PCI slot that the 192 was in?
3) How many inputs/outputs are you running?
4) You should be using the M-Audio Delta ASIO driver, not ASIO4ALL.
thanks JA
1) I haven't installed both cards yet
2) I disintalled the 192 before to place the 1010lt in and re-installed the driver. The slot is the same
3) at this time I'm using only main out and one mic in
4) I have to use ASIO4ALL because it's the only driver that makes available the external input in Reason.
No problem with M-Audio drivers but, due to Reason layout, a sound from external source can't be used by the software with your drivers.
The questions are:
A) Do the cards actually help CPU in sound generation or to have 2 cards it's only a lot more work to do for the PC?
B) If I place the 192 beside the 1010lt, do I have to run the installation program once again or one installation is enough for both cards?
Thank you
There should be no performance difference from switching from the 192 to the 1010lt if you're playing back the same stuff. If you were using more I/O that would require additional processing power. This could be an issue with the ASIO4ALL driver. You could try different PCI slots, but we don't support our devices under ASIO4ALL. I'd suggest testing w/ the Delta driver to see if there is a performance difference.
The Delta cards have a DSP monitor mixer that doesn't tax the CPU, however, running multiple Delta cards will require additional system resources. If you install the second card, all you need to do is shut down and install the PCI card. Both cards use the same driver and you don't need to re-install anything. You will however need to sync the 192 to the 1010lt w/ a S/PDIF cable and set the 192 to external S/PDIF sync.

first, I will test the system with M-Audio driver.
then, I'll try to put the 192 in.
thanks a lot JA
