Hi,

I'm using the newer look panel/drivers, 5.10.0.5069, and I'm having trouble recording interal sources such as media player, winamp, standalone synths, etc.

I used to be able to record with the old style Delta control panel fine.

When playing audio, the level meters are showing activity in "1/2 Out" on the output tab, and activity on the "master" and "sw 1/2 rtn" of the mixer tab.

I've tried both Adobe Audition and Sound Forge to record with, but both are picking up no signal at all.

I've tried selecting every input in audition (Multi, Monitor, 1/2, etc...) and I've tried setting the output source of 1/2 Out to everything I can too (sw rtn, mixer, 1/2 in). I've also tried setting the default recording device to every option in the windows control panel. Every combination of settings I've tried about ten times over. Also tried enabling/disabling the "disable asio direct monitoring" in Delta panel, and tried turning up every fader in the panel too.

What I'd most like to know is exactly what should my output source be set to for 1/2 Out, and what should the recording device be set to in windows control panel?

<I edited your post to check that box to show your signatur>

The output source doesn't affect the recording, however, if you want to be able to directly monitor your inputs you should select "mixer". The default recording device in Windows doesn't matter. You need to select the Delta ASIO driver in your recording applications. To record an internal source, you need to select Inputs 11/12 (may be labeled Monitor) in your recording application.

I just tested this with Ableton Live and Cubase and it worked just fine. In Cubase, the meters did not light up while recording, but the audio was recorded.

Today it works fine! I guess yesterday I could have just rebooted to fix it. Strange.

Thanks for the help anyway, it's handy to know those other options don't make a difference, in case I have problems in future.

Glad to hear it's working. I guess I should clarify; the Windows default recording device doesn't make a difference for programs like Audition, Sound Forge, and most other recording applications because they have their own audio configuration menus that ignore the Windows default setting. Some chat/instant message type applications may use the Windows default setting.
