Often times, those computer microphones are electret condenser mics that require 5 volts of power to operate. The built-in sound card on most computers provides this, but the Delta 1010lt does not. Do you have any brand name, model number, or any specs for the mic? Is it a stereo mic? Does the 3.5mm jack have 1 or 2 black rings?

How are you able to connect that microphone to the XLR input of the 1010LT?

It looks like that's a dynamic microphone, so you can connect it to the 1010lt; I would suggest connecting it to an XLR input. The default settings for the jumpers on the PCI card (both in the top position) should be for the maximum gain at mic level (+30dB). I did some searching for a 3.5mm (F) to XLR (M) cable and couldn't find one. You may have to see about making or getting a custom cable made. Otherwise, you may be able to find some adapters to them to match up.
