So, my sound sound stopped working for no apparent reason. I have reseated the card, uninstalled/Reinstalled drivers, changed RCA cables and still no sound.

I see the control panel, I even see sound bars moving under the WavOut S/PDIF in the Delta Control Panel.

I am using the Analog out to a Mackie mixer. ( I have tested the channel on the mixer with another pc and got sound)

I see the M-Audio under my sound, video and game controllers in the device manager. No errors

The patch/router settings are on Wavout1/2 and the H/w Out is on WaveOut S/PDIF.

I have verified that my PC is looking at the M-Audio for play back and not the onboard card.

I even went as far as to install this card in another PC and still do not have any sound.

The only thing that has changed on this pc since the card was working is I installed a print driver (cannon D800) - But that woudl not explaine why it would not work in another PC.

Please advise..

Thanks,
Arizonaskys

That's your problem, you have signal routed to the S/PDIF digital output. You want to use outputs 1/2 (analog), not 3/4 (S/PDIF). Make sure your application is set to output through 1/2; on the patchbay/router tab, make sure H/W Out 1/2 is set for "Monitor Mixer", then on the Monitor Mixer page make sure the levels are turned up.

I was using only the RCA out. not the additional plug that it came with. Secondly, I go it to work again only after removing the card and placing it in another slot on the board. - My conections were never changed from day one.. so why did it read the wrong out?

I have a similar problem under Vista (32-bit). The bars are moving although i hear no sound. If I select "Manage audio devices" in the Vista control panel I can choose between "Line 1/2" and "S/PDIF" but neither works.

Are you speakers connected to the RCA line outputs on the 24/96 PCI card? The outputs are the connectors in the middle of the card, closes to the 9pin breakout cable. Are the levels turned up on the Monitor Mixer?

It works now that I've switched the cables between the two input/outputs, although it worked the other way round in a previous Windows XP isntallation.
