Hello, my name is Peter, I'm new to this forum. After years of trouble free operation, I have what is hopefully a simple issue to fix. Using a 192 card with XP SP 2 solely for playback of high def audio stored on my PC - both SPDIF into a DAC and analog output directly into pre. Recently installed a new Maxtor hard drive and lost all analog output and volume from SPDIF is barely audible. There is no obvious link but the new drive is the only change to the PC. Updated drivers, reinstalled h/w and s/w to no avail. Audigy card in the same PC is fine with both SPDIF and analog. Perplexed.. anyone out there have any suggestions please?

Sounds strange. Try disabling the audigy card in device manager. Uninstall the the 192 hardware and drivers. Boot up with out the 192 installed. Go back to the device manager and ensure the audigy card is still disabled.
Power down the PC. Reinstall the 192 and reinstall the drivers per the manuals instructions. Reboot the machine. Check for 192 functionality.
Get back to us with your results.
