I am using a Dell 4550, I recently attained a 1010lt after using a 66 Omni successfully for several years. I would like to use these cards together to increase my inputs. Should i install the cards one at a time or put them in simultaneously? Do i install the drivers first, then the cards? I used the included cd from the old 66 and the new 1010 and it appeared to take. The control panel looked as it did with the old 66, the 1010 was present and i was able to manipulate both cards. Is the new cont.panel better and easier to use? Can I monitor both cards through a single pair of outs. using Samplitude the ins and out used to show up as PCM in 1/2, Wav out 1/2 etc. Now they show up as just Delta 1010 or 66 1/2. It does not read PCM or WAVout, is that right. there is a selection for MultiChannel-is this Mon. Mixer? The comp has plenty of memory and a p4. there are no conflicts. i wonder if the drivers are correct?
Both cards will use the same driver. You should install the drivers before the hardware. Install 1 PCI card at a time, once the first is recognized, shut down and install the second. MultiCard setup has not been qualified with the latest drivers for SP3, however, I ran some basic tests with 2 Delta 1010lt's and was able to record and play back through both cards. You could also use the previous SP2 driver version 5057v3.
You need sync the 2 cards via S/PDIF; you can setup the output source for the S/PDIF output on the second to be the monitor mixer which would allow you to send the inputs/outputs to that card into the first for monitoring.

Thank you for the reply, I have the cards synced via S/PDIF and all appears normal. I am using Samplitude 6 and am curious as to why the inputs are not shown as Pcm in 1/2, Wav out 1/2. So far I can see the level meter responding to a single in. the program records but does not play back.

If you are getting some sort of error message in Samplitude like "cannot open waveform output..." you need to make sure the sample rates match. For example if you are running 16 bit with your soundcards, you need to make sure that Samplitude is doing the same thing. Option>System>Drive resolution check the 16 bit box if this is the case. Unfortunately I am not very familiar with Samplitude, so as for the inputs and how they show up, I'm not sure. What are your outputs set to in Samplitude? IF your master output is set to 1/2, then when you have Monitor Mixer(Under H/W OUT 1/2) selected in the Delta control panel, that means that all sound that goes through that particular card will play out of the liter 1/2 outputs of that card. I hope this helps a little. Cheers

The comp. I am using is intended for studio use only, I really have no need for internet. Should I just take it back to SP2 and use the mentioned driver? I used a really old compaq with my 66 Omni for years and it worked great. Now that I've upgraded to a newer machine all I want is more channels. I mostly do Live takes with the whole band so monitoring is not very critical, the playback is the important thing. Does my application really need SP3?

TechGique, Thanks a ton for the response. I set the sample rates in Samplitude and am now able to record from both cards. Don't know how I missed that, I thank you much as well all others who replied to my questions. Hopefully I can be of assistance to other users. I still SP3 but used the drivers from the cds.
