Hello,

I really need a recording interface for my pc and for quite a while, I've been thinking on obtaining the internal Audiophile 192 card for its high quality recording capability and versatility.

However during my last visit to Sam Ash, a rep over there told me not to get an internal card and instead buy external usb solution for recording on my pc. His explanation was that internal cards a prone to produce noise and interference on the recording.

How does Audiophile 192 perform? Does it truly record in cd quality and without any background noise interference due to the card being inside a PC? And also, would my pc be capable of recording at cd quality? I have 3 Ghz P4 and 1Gb RAM.

Thank you very very much for you support!!!

Iyoooha,

Your PC sounds just fine and you should have no trouble recording at CD quality and beyond. It's good to ask questions like these because many peeps out there will have one bad experience and assume that it is the product. What he most likely was dealing with was some sort of resource conflict where the card was sharing an IRQ internally with another device. Bear in mind that this can hapen with ANY audio interface and it can create pops and clicks. However, if the PC is optimized to record audio and there are no conflicts internally, then you will find the AP 192 to be just what you're looking for. I have had a delta 44 (Also a PCI card) for years and have had no trouble recording at 24bit 48k. If any background noise appears it will only be room noise. The only advantage to a USB device in my opinion is mobility. If you are not planning on moving things, this card will suit you just fine. Cheers
