View Full Version : Is it possible to re-route/duplicate Inputs?

Hi,
I have a program that reads 2 ASIO inputs, and outputs to 2 ASIO outputs.
The problem is that I only have 1 input to feed it and I was wondering if it was possible to duplicate Input1 on ASIO Input2, so I can duplicate physical input1 on both ASIO inputs 1 & 2.
Thanks.

Anyone?..............
What device do you have? What application are you using? What exactly are you trying to do? If you only have 1 input, you should be recording to a mono track.

-I have the 1010LT
-Doesn't matter
-I want to duplicate/route sound from physical Mic1 to Asio IN2, so *any* application that listens to Asio IN2, gets the sound played from Mic1. Is that possible?
Thanks.

Hey Jobol,
An example when using Pro Tools is to have two tracks set up to both recieve signal from IN 1, thereby getting the same signal into two different tracks so you can have different effects, panning, etc. Some recording apps. also let you send a mono signal into a stereo track and it just naturally doubles the sound to left and right, but it is still no more than a mono source duplicated. If this isn't what you're looking for, give us an example of what you're trying to do in a little more detail and perhaps we can help you out a little more. Cheers

Hi tech,
I am using an application (Revalver) standalone that is basically an ASIO based application.
It allows you to chose a single ASIO input, or a dual ASIO input. The problem is that when you chose a mono input with this application, you can only chose a mono output.
So in order to correct that, I want to make Revalver listen to Asio1 and Asio2 so i can have stereo out.
The problem is that it is only listening to 1 valid channel out of 2, so there is some artifacts, so I want ti duplicate physical IN1 to ASIO IN2...Outside of any host...and then whenever a host uses IN2 ASIO, it will be listening to IN1 physical.
There is no way to duplicate the inputs; you would probably need a small mixer to connect the mic to, then connect the stereo output of the mixer to inputs 1/2 on the 1010lt.

You could probably do it with a $5 adapter/y-cable from Radio Shack/Circuit City/whatever, just split the incoming signal to two inputs. Or write to the Revalver people and tell them to fix their app so that a mono input can create stereo output, like every other app out there. ;-)
