Spdif sync Audiophile 24/96

If I try to sync externally via spdif all I get is noise. I used asio4all and got it to work fine with a pretty long latency but using the m-audio drivers I can't get it to work with any buffer settings. Is there a general problem with this card and windows xp that I don't know about. Has anyone else had this problem with their daw?

There's no problem, S/PDIF sync works fine here. Which version of XP? Home, Professional, or Media Center Edition? What service Pack? What driver version? When you selected the S/PDIF input as the sync source, did it lock to the corresponding sample rate?

Went back a few notches and found an older driver that works just fine. Sorry don't know which one. I think it was released mid 2007. It is the black delta icon, not the red one. I have xp sp3 , but new drivers are a no go with the intel x38 chipset. Ty for the tip, I rarely have to backdate drivers, thanks for putting them on the sites.
