hi there i have some trouble to convert/record my vinyls in 24/96 flac and i dont know whats wrong there.. the recordet files are 24/96 wave with 4608 kbps .. the flac core makes 24/96 files with an compressionrate 0.1 to 0.2 with flacfiles on low bitrate fe 300-1000 kbps. normaly is an rate from 0.5 or 0,6 with an bitrate more then 2500 or 3000kbps whats up here .. ??

on that i realize that must have been an issue with my harware or so but i havent changed (cabels, player, preamp the same config) - the m-audio 24/96 switches automaticly from 96khz up to 48khz i think the sourcefile is not very well recorded.. but they are in 24/96 and 4608.. im totaly confused what is wrong here on my setup.. the issue comes up different on different operating systems... i dont know what i can do to resolve it..
im going mad folks please help

so the story continues... the problem is still the same.. i have a new quality turntable.. and i have tryed different operating systems and drivers.. i have new hardware (computer) but the error is the same.. i have the problem on 64bit vista.. win2000 and right now with winxpsp3 with your yp3 driver for this.. its realy crazy the files ive record via audacity are labeled with 24bit 96khz and a bitrate of 4600 (ca) ..but when i made a spectralanalyse the files are low bited.. when i convert to flac the compressionrate is to low and the files come up with an bitrate up to 1000.. but i must be 3000 or 4000 kbps.. there is something wrong but i dont know what.. can u help me please !!???

can anybody help me here to find a way out here!?

my first vinylrecording was ok.. i thought it could be the vinyls itself.. low quality produktion or so.. but no.. the same vinyls are lowbit recorded right now.. aarrgghh

??

Can you try recording the WAV files with a different application (other than Audacity)?

hi there,

so i have tested with adobe audition and coldwave.. but these appl are not so scaleble like audacita (audition allows only 32bit floating not 24bit) and it came up with the same result i think.. but i will try again.

q: why should i test with another.. audacity is ok ..i like most to record..

so here are an screen of spectral from adition .. the upper is a goof file and the down is a "thin" record where i have the problem:
