I think it may be related to my control panel settings. I was trying to get guitar monitoring for amplitube but think I've accidentally disabled the hardware monitoring in cubase.
Could someone suggest some setting I may have missed. There's a midi click and an audio click set up in the metronome setup and I seem to universally botched it for all my recordings.
Any suggestions. I've lost it before but everything I did then has yeilded no results.
I would think you would want an audio click. I don't know for sure but MIDI click sounds like it would just send out a MIDI note and you'd have to have an instrument or external device setup to trigger a slick sound based on this MIDI note. You may want to check out www.Cubase.net for help troubleshooting the Cubase side.
What OS and driver version are you running? Are you still able to get input and output from Cubase?

I'm running xp. I've not rebuilt the system or anything. I actually have a beep click selected. I've looked through the settings on the metronome and it all looks fine to me.
I have monitoring switched on and hardware out on channels 3 - 4 and the sound is all coming out but the click isn't there any more. I think I've changed something in the delta panel but I don't know what.

went to device pool and found a slider which had gone down. No idea why it had done that. I appear to have a click again. I wonder if this was affected when I turned monitoring off from the delta panel.
