Help,
My system is used for transferring vinyl LPs and cassettes to CDs.
I’ve recently purchased an Audiophile 192 PCI card to replace an existing Creative Audigy SB1394, basically because the Creative card did not offer a way to control the input volume from the stereo amp, and the result was severe clipping, on the recordings.

Now however, I cannot get any sound at all from the input on the AP 192.

The L&R analog output from the amp is connected to the L&R 1 /2 input of the AP 192, but does not register on the mixer panel.

I am using Audacity and/or Nero Wave Editor to do the transfer, but neither of these applications can detect any input device.

The onboard sound has been disabled, and all traces of Creative Audigy have been removed. I have re-installed the AP 192 card, using the latest driver for XP SP3, and I am able to get output for any .wav file on the hard drive and also able to play itunes through the card, however it should be noted that the output is through the “sw 1 /2 rtn”.

What I am doing wrong? Hopefully this is just a configuration issue?

When playing back from iTunes, are you seeing the meters on the sw 1/2 rtn channel lighting up? Have you selected the 192 as the default playback device from the Windows Control Panel>Sounds and Audio Devices?

Try disconnecting the breakout cable to make sure no pins are bent or broken. Disconnect and reconnect the input cables to the Inputs L and Input R jacks, ensuring they are properly seated. Also connect your speakers to the Monitor (Mon) outputs L and R. Then reconnect the breakout cable and tighten the screws to ensure a good connection. Again try sending audio from the stereo and see if you get any response in the Delta Control Panel.

Yes, when playing back from iTunes the meters on the sw 1 /2 rtn channel light up.
Yes, "Delta AP 192 1 /2" selected for both Sound Playback and Sound Recording in Windows Control> Sounds and Audio Devices.
No pins are bent or broken on the breakout cable, and the powered speakers are contected to the monitor L and R outputs.

Still no response in the control panel from the input.

Also noticed no sound, when attempting to play a YouTube selection.

Are all the channels turned up on the Monitor Mixer? Are any solo's or mutes enabled? Can you try the main L and R outputs as well? Can you test the Delta card in a different PCI slot?

JA, Thanks for all your help and suggestions.

The problem has been resolved!

By swapping cables around, I determined that the input cables from the amp were bad, once they were replaced, the AP 192 worked like a charm.

Thanks again.
