I've been running a Delta 1010LT on Windows XP using Magix Samplitude for about 5 or 6 years. I love it, and it's worked with me as I build up my outboard gear. I recently built a new computer but was sad when the Vista 64 bit drivers weren't released yet for my 1010LT. So I dual booted Vista and XP, using XP only for audio recording, and Vista for everything else. I just recently purchased a 2nd Delta 1010LT to have a total of 16-inputs/outputs, as well as overjoyed that the Vista 64 drivers were released.

Anyway, first (since everything was already working perfeclty) I installed the Pro Tools M-Powered Demo that came with my new 1010LT card (the one I bought 5 or 6 years ago only came with the usual abelton live, etc.). So, still only using one card (the one that was already installed and working perfectly), I loaded up Pro Tools M-Powered Demo, waited for plug-ins etc. to load, and all of a sudden "Unable to locate M-Audio Hardware. Make sure your hardware is connected and turned on." which confused the hell outta me, cause how can Magix Samplitude detect my card for the past oh....forever, and Pro Tools tell me it does'nt even exist. Anyway, I thought it was that Pro Tools needed updated drivers. So I did that, and got the same message. To change things up, I loaded Pro Tools M-Powered Demo onto Vista 64, and then downloaded the recently released Vista 64 M-Audio Delta series drivers. Loaded up Pro Tools, "Unable to locate...."

Anyone having similar problems? is my setup wrong, and there's a logical reason it's not seeing that my card is connected? it boggles the hell outta me, seeing as how I've been running this same card (still haven't installed the new one I got) with Magix Samplitude, running smoothly for the last few months on this new computer, and magically, Pro Tools decides it's not there.

P.S.: checked to see if Samplitude still recognises my card, now that Pro Tools is installed and doesn't.....Samplitude still works perfect. It's really confusing me as to how this is happening.

Pro Tools is not supported on Vista 64bit, and it does not support multiple interfaces.

...but then can anyone answer why pro tools is still giving me the same error when I'm running Windows XP Professional, and still haven't installed the 2nd card?

What version of the Pro Tools M-Powered Demo do you have? What driver are you using on XP Pro?

Pro Tools M-Powered 7.4

and the driver I got was from M-Audios' driver download section. The file was labeled "Delta_V32_5.10.00.5069v3.exe"

I just installed the 7.4 demo on XP SP3 and was able to launch it using the 1010lt with the 5069v3 driver. Had you installed any previous driver versions? If you check the About tab of the Delta control panel, does it show version 5069?

so I found that when I restarted the computer, the installer was pointing to an old driver, so I deleted it, and re-pointed it to the new driver, and voila. But, thought it was about to start and I got "DAE error -6006 was encountered" but I think this is just because I finally installed my second card. However, I'm not that upset, since I've sync'd up the cards, and they work wonderfully in Magix Samplitude. Thanks for all the help. Just out of curiosity, I'll take out the 2nd card to see if that error goes away from Pro Tools.
