Sound Starts Late

This isn't a synchronization complaint but rather an annoying occurrence when playing video files. I'm using a Delta 24/96 in a HTPC. I'm presently using Vista 64 but the problem was also apparent in Xp 32. In Xp I cured the problem by running older drivers. The problem is that the sound does not start playing for a full 2 seconds after the video starts. When it starts it is fine. If I pause the video again I get the delay. If I change from a window to full screen I get the delay. This problem does not appear if I use my onboard sound so I must assume it's the Delta. Further, since this was a problem for me in Xp seems to suggest a driver issue. I'm using Zoom Player with spdif output to my Lexicon preamp. I haven't seen this problem in the forum but perhaps someone has a solution to this annoyance. I guess I could use the onboard sound but it doesn't support Asio which I prefer when playing music.

Initiate playback with the Delta Control Panel open; do you see the levels before you hear the sound? Or do the meters not respond until you start hearing audio? Have you tested with any other applications?

Ok..did what you suggested and it seems that the meters respond before the sound initiates.. I have tried other apps and the sound is less delayed than in Zoom Player. I do want to point out that other Delta drivers did not have this problem while others did.
