Hi,
I've two questions about how to connect a microphone to line inputs.
1) How can I connect an unbalanced mike to lines 1-2?
In which pin of the XLR female I have to put the signal (2 or 3)?
2) I've tried to connect a simple microphone to lines 3..8 but when I record, I cannot see nothing!
Thanks in advance!
Daniele.

I believe the hot signal should be in pin 2 and if you're using a 2 wire cable shunt the pins 1 and 3.
Cheers
1. Pin 2 is hot.
2. Inputs 3-8 are line level inputs; you would need a microphone preamp to bring the signal up to line level for recording.

It would be better to have a mic preamp or a mixer (that has a mic preamp) before the line in. Otherwise, your signal may be so low and noisy as to be unusable. The little ART tube preamps, while far from being professional equipment will work very well for this. Musician's Friend has them for pretty cheap. (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/navigation?q=ART+Tube+MP+Studio&st=) That first one was a couple of hundred bucks when it first came out years ago.
They are very effective, very cheap, and good to learn on. Don't get too excited about OMG, ITZA TUBE because these are all so-called starved plate devices, meaning the tube is run so low that it doesn't actually do much. The tubes do last a very long time that way, however.
