Hi all.

I have had a Delta 44 for about 8 years now, very happy.

Just doing a new build for a muso friend of mine. Specs are

mobo: Asus P5KPL SE [ G31 chipset] E5200 dual core, 4Gb Crucial DDR2 800 on WinXP pro.

Basically have a Code 10 on device manager. I have tried all 3 PCI busses. Have got up to date drivers, and the system says they are installed and working. Seems like the system doesn't recognise it's there. No 'new hardware' pop up, had to install manually and when finished it said 'it's installed. but may not work properly'. And has that little yellow eror figure next to it in device manager.

But I have put this is an old P4 desk top and installed it fine and it works using SONAR Pro, recorded and played back. So the card is ok, I'll test on mine to make sure, but that looks conclusive. I think the board may be u/s on the PCI busses possibly? It is a new build, but I have got a Radeon 2600 PCI card installed and working. The pc runs 100 % fine otherwise. So I am a bit reluctant to rip it apart and RMA the board back to dabs.

Any ideas anyone?

Code 10 either indicates a system resource (IRQ) issue, or a problem with the device itself. If the Delta card works on a different computer, then there is some conflict/issue with the new system. Does this new system have any PCI power management? If so, disable it. Does the motherboard have an onboard video card? Can you remove the PCI graphics card and test? Check the BIOS for plug and play settings that may allow you to assign IRQ's to the PCI slots.

Thanks for that Ja.

I have put the Audiophile in my pc and it's fine. The Creative card I put into the new system also does not show. In fact the M Audio is still showing in Device Manager.

So I'll try what you have suggested. Except the on board graphics test. I bought the mobo becuase its was a G31 Intel chipset, and my mate wanted to keep costs down. When it arrived it didn't have an onboard VGA or DVI output. Hence a quick trip to town to get a reasonably priced [£25] HD2600.

Hopefully its an IRQ issue. Appreciate your help.

It's all good now thanks. Messed around in IRQ...
