About a year ago, or maybe it was half a year? I purchased Session with the USB Fast Track adapter. I still have the adapter and the software, but that's for PC. Being a native Apple person, I've gone out and purchased a MacBook for college.
I would like to install Session to my Macintosh, so that I can use it in college. The only thing is that the version I bought was Windows. I was wondering if there was a way the company could email me a Macintosh copy, or something, because Session said that the USB adapter acts as the CD-Key.
Now, I know that MacBooks come with Boot Camp which should allow me to install Windows on it, as another partition on the HD, but I'm not trying to do that. I already tried once, and it was a difficult process. It's very complicated, and I ended up deleting my incomplete Windows partition and restored it back to full Apple-grade awesomeness.
Besides, I'm trying to use Session in conjunction with other software, such as Garage Band and Logic Pro.
If you guys could help me out, I really appreciate it.
Thanks!

Hi Arojekt,
Session was originally conceived as a Windows-exclusive product, and remains Windows-exclusive to this day.
The intended Mac user experience with this product is to use Fast Track USB with Garageband as an alternative to Session, rather than in conjunction with Session.
I'm personally well aware of the subtle feature differentiation between Session and Garageband, but I'm curious as to what features in Session are motivating you to want to use it in conjunction with Garageband, rather than just creating with Garageband or Logic Pro on their own.
Thank you for any thoughts you have time to share!
Cheers,

For some reason or another, my MacBook's GB will not pick up the Fast Track as a line for a live instrument feed. I've played with the preferences on GB as well as the preferences from the System Preferences of the Macintosh OS. I just can't get it to recognize it. It's weird.
I was pretty sure in one of the magazines I routinely get every month, I saw Session coming as a Macintosh version. I can't remember where I saw it, but perhaps I misread it.
I don't know, I just find using Garageband easier with regards to track and pattern set ups. However, I find Session's recording better (because GB won't work with the Fast Track).
I will hopefully obtain Logic Pro in the not too distant future, but right now my financial situation isn't really supportive. I use a friend's for now to redo and design custom sounds and effects.
Anyways, thanks for the help Patrick.

Ah, well, if Fast Track USB didn't work with Garageband we'd be in a world of hurt. Fast Track USB DOES work with Garageband, there is no need to upgrade to different software just to get it to function as it should.
If your Mac is healthy (and I'm 99.9% sure it is) there is likely a very simple solution to this issue to get everything working in the straightforward way it is supposed to.
However, I should point out that diagnosing and fixing the problem could take awhile in the forum format.
The starting place would be to list all system specs and steps to reproduce outlined here (http://forums.m-audio.com/showthread.php?t=57).
Since Fast Track USB doesn't require a driver in OS X, it should show up in both the GB Audio/MIDI input/ouput preferences and your general OS X Audio/MIDI Setup Utility. When you plug in Fast Track USB to your into either USB port on your Mac, does it not show up as a selectable input/output in both of the locations I just mentioned?

Nope.
I'll check that link you provided, though. Thanks.

Do you get exactly the same results, or lack of results, on both of your macbook's USB ports? In the past, with USB audio devices, which macbook USB port (http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=support.faq&ID=d01380c0edebb8d0bfd34997f4e3a0ce)used has made a huge difference in installation success.
It sounds like the macbook itself just isn't recognizing your Fast Track USB, which (as you know) has nothing to do with which software app you are trying to use. What options do you see under "default input" when you go to Utilities/Audio MIDI setup in your main OS X HD?
