problems getting software mixer to unity

Hello i have a mackie cfx16 mixer with all my keyboard set to unity. however, when the delta 1010 software mixer picks them up in vista. it shows all channels at around -12db. why is it loosing volume? any ideas would be helpful. thanks!

Are you connected with balanced or unbalanced cables? Most digital devices are calibrated so that 0dB analog comes in at -18dB digital; this leaves you with plenty of headroom. Your levels sounds like they're fine.
