I have purchased a new mac with 6 gb ram 1.2 terrabyte hard drive, dual processors both dual core. I was getting my studio up to date so that other Recording Engineers using Pro Tools could rent the studio. I purchased a new copy of Pro Tools 8 . I have now found that after spending several thousand dollars that Pro Tools does not support multiple Delta 66 cards. How about that! A $2000 professional software package that does not support multiple cards. For several years I have used Adobe Audition and have been perfectly satisfied however most professional Recording Engineers prefer Pro Tools. Live is also a good piece of software which supports multiple cards. Now I will be forced to purchase another sound card or recording hardware. I prefer 8 tracks to use with a 56 channel 8 buss board. Any recommendations? I am tempted to sell the new mac and recoop what I can but I am stuck with the M-Audio supported Pro Tools software since I have already registered it. This really sucks. Stx

The new Intel Based Mac Pro's (and the late model dualcore G5's) have PCI Express slots; the Delta 66 cannot be used in these systems as it is only PCI/PCI-X compatible. The ProFire 2626 (http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/ProFire2626.html) has 8 analog inputs plus additional ADAT I/O's. Pro Tools M-Powered supports up to 18 simultaneous inputs/outputs.
