I've read several threads in here about the success stores regarding Windows 7 (64-bit) and the Profire 610, but this hasn't worked at all for me. I've used the 7000 and 7068 builds, none making a difference. The problem I get is that after a few seconds of use (in Sonar, Guitar Rig Standalone, etc.) the signal becomes horribly digitally distorted. I noticed that if I monitor the pure signal from the M-Audio dashboard app, it sounds perfectly fine, while the audio from the software return is distorted. I've also installed Windows XP (32-bit) and Vista (64-bit) - both of those work just fine with no issues. Oddly, I've always been using the on-board Firewire from my motherbarod (which is a TI chipset) and had this problem, so I purchased a TI-Chipset Firewire card as advised - it didn't make a difference. I've walked through all the FAQ's and troubleshooters here and can confirm I have none of those issues (IRQ conflicts, etc.) I'm using the 64-bit Vista SP1 drivers from this site. I've also toyed with the Firewire drivers (as advised by others) so that I've also tried using the lagacy drivers available with Windows 7 - no go. I'd really appreciate any thoughts or advice. Here are my specs:

Windows 7 build 7068 (64-bit)
Profire 610 (5.10.0.5077 drivers)
Gigabyte EP35-DS4 motherboard (on-board Firewire disabled)
8 GB RAM
ADS PYRO API-316 Firewire Card

I am currently using the 610 with win7 x64.

- clean install of win7 x64 7068
- install firewire vista x64 drivers (5.10.00.5077) in vista compatibility mode
- shut down, connect the 610, and reboot

I have been using ableton extensively without any problems.

My mobo is a nvidia 780i which has an onboard TI TSB43AB22A firewire chip (a quick search indicates yours is a TSB43AB23 chip). The 610 is connected to this onboard and I didn't install any nvidia mobo drivers... i just let win7 take care of them.

I am only sitting on 4gb of ram, so that shouldn't be the problem.

How are you powering the 610? Mine is powered by firewire, but maybe you could try using the power supply (to rule out a psu issue, who knows...)

Good luck! Hang in there... win7 is awesome.

I have the exact problem, haven't found a solution yet.
