If someone can help me troubleshoot this problem, I'd really appreciate it.

I have a Delta 66 card connected to an Omni I/O breakout box. Everything has been working beautifully until last week, when I lost all input from the Omni box.

-- When I plug my guitar into the Input 1 (mic/inst), that input's signal and clip LEDs light up, but the main Omni mixer LEDs stay off and I get no sound signal in the driver software.

-- When I plug in via a preamp to the Omni's line inputs, I get sound directly through the monitors, but still no sound shown in the software, and no indication from the mixer LEDs.

-- I DO get sound output from the computer, however. Music, movies, Flash, etc... everything outputs to the monitors and headphones via the Omni box, and the mixer LEDs light up accordingly.

-- Possibly related: I haven't used Input 2 (mic/inst) in years, but I plugged in yesterday to see if that might work. For that input, I got nothing at all-- no sound, and no light-up from that jack's LEDs. Then this morning when I powered up, the signal LED for that input lit up very brightly and then flickered for about 15 seconds before going out.

I've tried everything I can think of to solve this problem computer-wise. Everything is wide open in the control panel settings; I've reinstalled the drivers; I've removed the card, reinstalled the OS, then reinstalled the card and drivers.

The more I tinker with the software, the more convinced I'm becoming that this is a hardware problem. But I may be on the wrong track altogether, and I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to deal with this issue.

My system:
-- Delta 66 & Omni I/O
-- Self-built PC (Phenom II 920, 4GB RAM, 790GX Mobo)
-- OS: Ubuntu Linux 9.04, kernel 2.6.29.1-rt8 (also tested on Debian Squeeze/Lenny, 64Studio 3.0, and UbuntuStudio 8.04, and generic 2.6.28 kernel).
-- Driver software: snd-ice1712 and envy24control

This really looks like a hardware problem, but you might want to try turning the computer off and then re-fasten the cable that connects the Omnio to the Delta card. If that does not help you should contact M-Audio support directly about having the Omnio IO repaired.

Well, that didn't result in any change, so I'll go ahead and get in touch with them.

Thanks for the response.

If you're trying to use the front inputs, make sure the button on the back "To Ins 1,2" is OUT; when pushed it in overrides the front inputs.
