Delta 410 choppy sound

Hi guys, after reinstalling WindowsXP SP3 I have some problems with my Delta 410 card. I am using Cubase SX 3 and when I am playing my virtual instruments the sound is always choppy and covered with cracky noises, particularly when using more cpu-intensive instruments like my NI Akoustic Piano. Playback of multiple audio tracks and recording is not affected. Of course I have installed the latest driver und updates, tried different PCI-slots und the PCI-latency checked by the DPC-tool seems to be ok . The card has its own IRQ and does not share it with any other device. Before I have installed the new system the configuration worked fine, so might this be an SP3 problem (I have used SP2 before) or do you have any other suggestions ? Many thanks in advance.....:)

If recording and playback is fine, and the problem only occurs with cpu-intensive virtual instruments, what happens if you increase the buffer for the Delta card?

this has only a slight effect; higher values between 1024 and 2048 samples makes the instruments a little bit better to play, but the sound has still these noises.

Please list all of your hardware.

Also, try disabling your graphics card, run it in trouble shooting mode. I've found that intense, problematic pops and clicks can be caused by the video card conflicting with the sound card.
