Hello,

Sometimes Sonar crashs, but the process stay in memory and it's impossible to kill it, even with the task manager.
Then after 10 mins, it stops by itself. At the same time, there is an event coming from DELTAII written in the event log, with the following content.

The description for Event ID 54 from source DELTAII cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

Any idea what this event is and why the process take so much time to stop ?

Thanks.

I have no idea what that is. I've sent an e-mail to see if I can find out; I'll let you know what I find out.

It sounds like Sonar may not be releasing the Delta driver. Does this happen with any applications. Does this happen with Sonar if you use the built in sound card?

If sonar crashs, isn't it normal to not release the driver correctly?

I've tried using WDM/KS instead of ASIO. I thought it was better because It was working well for several days. But again, got a crash, and impossible to remove the sonar process. I had to reboot. Sometimes it also hang when I just close sonar.

With XP, I've never experienced this, even if sonar crashs, the process was always removed from memory.

Thanks you.
The build in soundcard does not appear in sonar, so I can't test.
I didn't notice any problem with other application, but I don't have much to test except some standalone virtual instrument.
