I was wondering how I could import a rap instrumental and record myself over it I am using session with the fast track. I have figured out how to import a track but when i do i can only record myself and not the beat.

Are you recording your vocals onto a different track?

yep thats the idea i want to use already made tracks that i made or other artist tracks to do mix tapes so when i import the track it shows up but i cant figure out how to record my voice and the track if i try to do both it just records my vocals on one and the other it does the same and moves the imported track over

Once you import the track, you need to click the + sign and choose to record vocals with your mic; this sets up a new software track for you to record your vocals to. When you are finished recording your vocals you can Export the whole song from the file menu; this will give you a single stereo file with your vocals mixed with the track you imported.
