Audiophile 2496 config help RESOLVED

Hi there :)

I have recently installed an Audiophile 2496 into my system. Installation went smoothly, and it sounds great, but I am a bit confused with the volume control.
I'll include pictures to try to make it easier:
The Delta Control Panel has no control over the volume level at all, even though it is reading the signal.

I have to open the old windows volume control to increase or decrease the volume. It is quite loud even if the volume is on the lowest setting (speakers are Behringer Truth B2031A's).
Also, I have my cd mixer plugged into the analogue INS inputs to record dj sets. The sound comes through, but once again the Delta CP has no influence over the levels. I only have control over volume on the cd mixer it's self, which has to be kept very low.

The main thing I want to know is how to get the Delta CP as the main volume and level control.
I hope this isn't too confusing for you hehe...

Oh my goodness. I think you will need to reinstall your soundcard. I don't think that is normal behavior for your control panels. Be sure to physically remove the card as well as removing it's drivers. Then reboot, reinstall drivers, and turn off computer. Last put the soundcard in and boot up the computer. I think I got this right. I do remember for sure that it's important to install the drivers WITHOUT the card in yet.

P.S.-make sure you select ASIO drivers instead of WDM if given the choice. I think ASIO drivers are more stable.

The Master Volume slider controls the output of the Monitor Mixer, which you aren't using because outputs 1/2 are assigned to Wave Out 1/2, which bypasses the monitor mixer. You need to select the radio button for "monitor mixer" for H/W out 1/2 on the Patchbay/Router tab.

Thanks JA :) I've tried that too, but sound comes through only if i select the "WavOut 1/2" radio button. If I select "monitor mixer" no sound comes through what-so-ever.
What setting should I have in control panel/sounds and audio devices/sound playback? At the moment it's on "M-Audio Delta AP 1/2". The other choices in the drop-down menu are: "M-Audio Delta AP multi" and "M-Audio Delta AP S/PDIF".

Sorry my other ideas didnt work. M-Audio Delta AP 1/2 is probably correct to use. SPDIF is digital output and multi is for something else.

This is a long shot, but try raising the volume by pressing the volume up button if you have a multimedia computer keyboard, like on a desktop computer. I posted a message up here last night about it. In this Delta forum. Here's the link: http://forums.m-audio.com/showthread.php?t=925

Yeah I thought of that too, but the keyboard volume and mute buttons have no influence over the sound at all.....
I'm just baffled :confused:

Did you turn up the levels for Wave Out 1/2 & Master on the Monitor Mixer Tab? In your first picture, both of these channels are turned all the way down.

Yes mate I've tried every combination I can think of.
Would it have anything to do with SoundMax Digital Audio, which controlled the sound before I installed the sound card? Should I remove that program?

With H/W Out 1/2 assigned to Monitor Mixer, I was able to use the Wave Out 1/2 and Master Volume sliders to adjust the output volume.

With the master volume all the way up, adjusting the Wave Out 1/2 volumes should affect the level seen on the master output. Also make sure that the Windows Wave Volume is turned up.

Your built-in sound card shouldn't be affecting this, but it's worth disabling for testing purposes.
