    Default AES/EBU TimeCode

I have an old Fostex PD4 Dat Recorder and it let me output XLR/SPDIF AES/EBU signal.

And of course I have to get this signal and the timecode to my Mac.

So if I have a special cable that transfers my xlr to spdif coax can the 410 or 610 series handle the signal what transfers both audio and timecode date and sent it to logic?

Is it just an XLR to RCA cable? Or is it a true format converter? The impedances and signal levels are different as AES is balanced, just a straight cable may not work, though you can always try.
