Default AP192 Router Page Not Available

    Hello,

I purchased a Lenovo PC a few years back and found my AP192 on-line. It has always perform flawlessly as my primary concern was balanced analogue in and out capability. I've recently added an M-Audio "Fast Track Pro" USB device to my laptop. Now I would like to have them both communicate via spdif. For some reason, since I never needed it, I realized there is no access to the "Router" page in the AP192 software to make spdif assignments (or any others for that matter).

Q1 How do I overcome the inability to install the latest driver?

Q2 Do I leave the spdif setting local or remote to communicate with the "Fast Track" box?

The following is the full description of my attempted progress.

I am using a Lenovo desktop PC:

    -x64 based system model - 8702z
    -Processor = Intel core 2 Duo E7400 2.8 GHz
    -Bios 2SKt45A, 12/22/2008
    -SMBios 2.5
    -Hardware Abstract Layer = 6.0.6002.18005
-OS = Windows Vista Home Premium 6.0.6002 (Service Pack 2) Build 6002
    -Memory = 6 GB

My soundcard is an AP192 in a PCI slot. A few years ago, I installed this card using the CD that came with it and my only need was for balanced analogue I/O's.

    The current driver is 5.10.0.5069

Problem: I do not have the Patchbay/Router page, so I am unable to access these functions. I also notice a reference to "SW" i/o's on the mixer, so looks like it thinks I am using a Mac. I'm attempting to upgrade my driver by installing the following

    Installer: 6.0.5 - Driver: 5.10.0.5076

However, it will not install. Instead I get a runtime error message.

"This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the applicaton's support team for more information"[/I][/I]

When I click OK, I get

"ma_isu has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available".

Upon advice from M-Audio tech support, I un-installed the current driver first, then attempted to install the newly downloaded driver with no luck.

I then took the physical AP192 card out of the PCI slot and re-started the PC, made sure the old driver was no longer there, and again downloaded the new driver only to receive the same "runtime error" message. I am back to the older driver and no use of spdif, unless anyone knows of a solution.

    Thanks for your help.

Try installing the latest driver, 6.0.8 as this has fixes for installer issues: http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=...drivers&f=1225

The new control panel has the same routing options as the old one, it's just laid out differently. You can make these assignments on the output tab. See this FAQ: Overview of the new Delta Series Control Panel (Windows)

Thanks Jared for the suggestion. However, I'm still getting the same "Runtime" error as before. Any other thoughts?

(please forgive me if you've gotten multiple copies of this response; my first time on this board)

I checked and it looks like this was not one of the installer issues that was fixed, this is still pending. You may be able to try running the installer as Administrator or in compatibility mode. If that doesn't work you'll have to stick with the previous driver until they are able to fix it.

The developer has been looking into this and the error with the Delta Series is not the same that we've seen with other devices that displayed this same error. We have not been able to reproduce this and are not sure what's causing it or how to fix it yet.

Do you have any other M-Audio devices or drivers installed?

Can you try this? Shut down and remove the Delta PCI card. Uninstall the current driver (5069) and then delete the files DeltaII.cpl & deltaIICoIn.dll from C:\Windows\system32 if they still exist. Restart and then install the latest driver 6.0.8. If you don't get the error, shut down after the installation finishes and install the PCI card.
