Default Midisport 8x8 patchbay issues on Mac 10.7.3

My 8x8/s black & silver isn't working with the remote app. I can use it with the USB as 8 midi ins and out, but I can't use it as a patch bay. This is on Mac osx 10.6.8 with the beta or release drivers.

What exactly is the problem? What happens when you launch the remote app?

Sometimes I get the error "No MIDISPORT 8x8/s devices could be found". I can generally get past this by cycling through the modes. Then when I switch over to the patch bay, and select anything, I get another error message. For example, if I click "Set ALL" I get the message "That operation failed because Ö ≠ Ü. 1120"

It was the same problem on both 10.6.8 and now on 10.7.3

I just tested an 8x8 on 10.6.8 and did not have any problems with the device being recognized by the Remote app, and I didn't get any errors when changing settings on different presets. I was also able too use Set All without the same error.

Is your 8x8 connected directly to the computer or a hub?

Can you test with all other USB devices (except keyboard/mouse) disconnected?

Have you repaired disk permissions lately?

The problem definitely is tied to other USB midi devices on the bus. Unfortunately this is a deal breaker for me, so I guess the midisport goes on the auction block

How the heck can I make the Patchbay software work under Mac OSX 10.6.8?
    This is on a 2009 MacBook Pro 17" Core 2 Duo 2.8GHz. 8GB RAM
I need this to run or the MIDISPORT 8x8 is worthless to me.

I did all of the following:
    - uninstalled all M-Audio drivers (I also have a 2x2, which is now disconnected)
    - reinstalled 3.4.0 driver
    - the 8x8 is on its own power adapter
    - have the 1.08 Remote patchbay software (latest)
    - I tried using various USB cables
    - I tried running the USB cable through a powered USB Belkin (brand-name) hub.
    - I tried having just the 8x8 as the only USB device plugged in.
    - Yes, I have repaired disk permissions.
    - I'm not a newbie... I've been doing MIDI on Macs since System 7.

No matter what, I keep getting "error 1120" from the Remote Patchbay software.
Is there a fix coming, or a workaround?

We have not encountered this error. The two reports in this thread are the first we've heard of it. It sounds like in Grawk's case the problem was caused by another USB device.

Can you test on a different system?

Test with the 3.4.2 beta driver, I'm not sure that it has any changes that would affect this, but since we haven't experienced this problem, I don't' have anything else to suggest as your troubleshooting has been pretty thorough.
