    Default Bx5a overheating tweeters

    Hi,

I used my BX5a for 3 years now without any problem.
Today I was mixing a bass and I noticed a frying noise from one of the tweeter. when I move my hand near the speaker a lot of air was coming out of it (from a tweeter?!).

I took out the plastic support and noticed that the tweeter support on the rear was completely melted, as well as the plastic around the tweeter itself. I have not looked at the other tweeter and I was wondering what was wrong with the one I have seen and if there could be something wrong with the other.

Could I order replacement? Do I hev to change something? They are connected to a Mackie 1202.

    Help, please

    Giovanni

I don't know what would cause this, but you can order replacement parts from repairs@m-audio.com. The tweeter is part # 9005-52715-00.

Thanks for the answer, Jared. The fact is that I need the plastic front more than the tweeter...could I order that as a replacement as well?

I don't know if that's available or not, you'll have to email them and find out.
