    Default Microtrack II -- decoupling 1/8" jack power

    There was an old thread started by gbrowne, which is now closed.
    "DC voltage across 1/8" input jack ?"
    Here I'm asking for what that circuit is, to decouple the 1/8" power.

    A recap:
    [about the:...] "4.5v DC across the 1/8" input jack between each channel and ground"

    Thank you Jared for: "Here's what one of the Engineer's had to say:

    "If he wants to avoid problems from the DC electret power, he should ac-couple his "mic" with a capacitor. However, if he wants to maintain any kind of low frequency response, he will need to be sure the cap is large enough in value. At 0.1uF, the high pass will roll off at 1/(2*PI*R*C)= 1/(2*PI*2200*0.0000001) = 723 Hz. I would suggest a 47uF (1.5 Hz) or 22uF (3.3 Hz) cap."

    So for me as a wiring illiterate, is the capacitor in series with the mike, in parallel, or would there be an even better circuit with a few more parts? Thanks

    Just in ascii text...

    maybe series? 1/8" signal <--> capacitor <--> mike <--> 1/8" ground

    or parallel?... 1/8" signal --------------
    ..................................... ! ........... !
    ............................... capacitor .... mike
    ..................................... ! ........... !
    ................. 1/8" ground -------------

    Cheers.
