Default Fast Track Pro - Audio dropouts (IRQ)

Alright, Paul told me to open a new thread and here it is

I recently bought a Fast track pro and installed all the latest drivers, but I'm experiencing random audio dropouts, wich makes the recording process impossible
After reading IRQ troubleshooting guide, I tried every usb port in my pc, but nothing changed.
When i check in device manager, the usb host controller where the interface is, apparently is not shared with any other device

    http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/428/irqv.jpg

But when using Everest, this is what I get

    http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/2512/irqeverest.jpg

According to the irq guide, every irq above 15 are virtual, that means it have low cpu priority and it's shared with real irqs. It's not good idea to having an audio interface there
So I want to know how to assign a real and exclusive irq to that usb port

    I'm using windows vista home 32bits sp1
Intel core 2 duo E7200, 4gb ram, hd 320gb, video - ati readeon hd 3450

P.S. In the 2nd screenshot, "compartilhado" means "shared". It's in portuguese, sorry for that

    thanks

Is your computer a desktop or a laptop? What brand and model number? Have you tried connecting the Fast Track Pro to other USB ports on the computer?

    Desktop - Dell Inspiron 530

    Yes, tried every usb port
Looks like irq issue, I need to fix that, but don't know how (see 2nd screenshot, it's a shared irq)

I already disabled some devices, but still got the dropouts

The best solution is to install a USB PCI card into the computer. This way you will have a USB controller that is assigned to different resources. It also allows you the flexibility to move the card to a different PCI slot if it does share resources.

I've just purchased the Dell desktop , Paul,
I can't install any pci card, because it would void the warranty..

Isn't there another way to set a physical irq to the usb port?

That depends on the hardware. Sometimes disabling some of the onboard devices in the BIOS can cause Windows to re-assign the IRQ. In order to prevent voiding your warranty, you should contact Dell support and ask them what to do about an IRQ conflict that is causing a problem with your external sound card. The problem that I see in your screenshot is that the USB controllers are sharing an IRQ with your SATA controllers.

But the usb controller you're talking about is not the one that have the fast track pro installed in.
I put a mark on the usb port I installed the interface, and even if windows shows no conflict (1st screenshot), that's not a exclusive irq, as shows Everest (2nd screenshot)
I contacted Dell, and they just told me that only m-audio can give me support to ensure the interface will work
I'm really mad, I don't know what to do

    Ok, Try this:

Go to the Windows Device Manager and select Universal Serial Bus Controllers. Right-click on each of the USB root hubs and select Properties and Power Management. Uncheck the box labled "Allow the computer to turn off this device".

Go to the Windows Control Panel and select Power Options. Set for high performance.

Is there a Dell service center that can install a card into the computer without voiding the warranty?
