I've had the revolution 5.1 Series sound card for roughly 2 years and at first it was a great sound card until i switched operating systems. I first went to xp 64 bit and M-Audio didn't have a driver out for it yet which then puts me out a sound card which also puts me out $. Then i switched to Vista 64 bit, LOL no driver for that either. 1 year later....Still no drivers out yet!! finally xp 64 bit gets a beta driver, which ends up being a piece. Sound cracks like crazy. Now i am running Windows 7 64 bit, which has no driver. It has been 1.5 years since i could even use my product i purchased from M-Audio, Which leaves me extremely angry. I will never again waist my money on anything M-Audio makes. Now with that being said i am stuck with this sound card, and who knows how long it will take them to come out with a Windows 7 driver...Probably 3-5 years judging by their previous driver updates. if an M-Audio associate is viewing my complaint would you be so kind as to tell me roughly when you will be making a good windows 7 64 bit driver? (If ever)

I've been using the 64-bit Vista driver, which at least enables my Revo to work. You have to apply the audio shutdown fix for it to install, though. The driver could be better, but works in Win 7 RC no worse than the XP driver did.

I canīt install the Revolution 5.1 drivers (Revo51_5_10_00_5064) successfully with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. I have downloaded the fixes that donpipo have made and is running the "AudioStop.bat" before I install the drivers but it still doesnīt work.
![]() I would be very grateful if somebody could post a step-by-step instruction of how you should install the revolution 5.1 successfully with Windows 7! ![]() /Daniel |

Here is what I did. I downloaded Revo71_V64_5_10_00_5063v3, then right clicked it and "troubleshoot comparability" and chose Vista 64 SP2. My problem was that when I tried to run the program without doing that, I got an error saying I had the wrong operating system. Not sure if this was your problem or not, but hopefully that helps.

What blotsome said. You did right to install the audio fix first, though.

I finally managed to install the driver but i canīt seem to get my subwoofer in my 2.1 setup work. Today when I played Fallout 3 the sound didnīt work at all but it works for all other programs.

Hi, I had the same problem. I managed to install it but after a while it started crackling etc...
However, with the help of a friend I managed to fix this and here's how to do it. The solution lies in the Via Envy24HT chipset. You can replace the m-audio drivers with the Envy24HT drivers (to be found here: http://www.via.com.tw/en/support/drivers.jsp). Under Windows 7 you do the following: open device manager right click on M-Audio Revolution 5.1 and select "Update Driver Software..." Select "Browse my computer for driver software" Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer" Click "Have Disk..." Browse to the correct map (in my case it was Envy24_Family_DriverV540a\VIAEnvyAud\Drivers\V64WD M). I think V64WDM stands for Vista 64bit. Select the "Envy24 Family Audio Controller WDM" and click "Next" This should now install the driver. If you use SPDIF both stereo, DTS and DD should work on your pc (otherwise you cannot have stereo and DTS/DD working using the same configuration). Maybe this will make it work for Fallout 3 as well. Cheers, Perrin |
