Default (HELP) Whats the Best Pre Amp/ monitors combination for a Sputnik and ProjectMix

I Bought a M Audio project mix and a Sputnik, im trying to get the best quality sound possible, i was thinking of buying a Avalon mic pre but im not sure i have herd it can be too much tube? what does this mean and what can be the best combination of mic pre to get the best sound possible!?

There is no right answer. You can ask 10 people and you will get 10 different opinions. If you can, demo the preamp beforehand to find out what combination sounds best to you. For advice on preamps in that range, check out www.gearslutz.com.

Yeah ive done alot of reaserch to maybe see if i get a definite answer but i guess the best bet is to try a few and compare! Thanks JA
