Default Can't get 2496 Delta to work

I just got Sonar 7 Pro and I cannot get MIDI i/o to function. The devices are in place although Sonar does not distinguish i/o in their device list.

I have tried a USB 4X4 with the same results

The Delta can record with no duplexing but can't playpack . I am using red light indicators not an instrument definition to determine this.

Help Please.

Can you please update your signature with your system specs as requested in this thread; this information will help us in troubleshooting your issue.

Are you saying that Sonar doesn't recognize the Delta MIDI I/O? Is it recognized as an Audio Device?

Can you try testing the MIDI I/O with MIDI-OX as described in this FAQ?

Question Similar situation

I have a 2496 running under Win XP SP2 with, I believe the latest driver for SP2. The card's Audio IN and OUT function properly but the MIDI function does not. The Band in a Box software reports Delta AP MIDI present in its MIDI input driver and MIDI output driver option boxes but selection of the latter mutes the output. The Cubasis software also reports the presence of Delta AP MIDI but produces no sound when outputted to this option. I am new to this sound card and the forum so any help would be much appreciated.

what are you hooking up to the midi port? FYI, midi does not generate sound, it is only for input devices to control software and/or output to other devices (ie. external hardware units) to control them.

I just successfully tested the MIDI Input on an Audiophile 24/96 with the latest driver using MIDI-OX. Do you have another MIDI cable to test with? What are outputting MIDI to?
