Thumbs up Scratchy sound on older delta1010

Hey,
I have had my Delta1010 since around 1999, and I love it, but over the past year or two certain input (and output) channels have been showing their age and having major distortion issues. It is intermittent, and it sounds unrelated to the signal...rather, the sound drops out and comes back randomly, as well as outputting UGLY noise. i assume some of the channels are dirty. In fact, it seemed that only the even channels were having this problem. Now however, it seems to be all of them, although intermittently.
Any help? Can it be cleaned? Is dust the problem?

Thanks,
Sky

The fact that you are hearing it on all channels now and then leads me to think this isn't dust related. Do you think the cable that connects the rackmount chassis to the PCI card could be worn or damaged? One thing you might try is to clean the connectors on both ends of the Delta cable, along with the connector on the PCI card and the connector on the rackmount chassis.
