Delta44 delta1010

Hi,
I have a delta 44 and a delta 1010 LT audio card. Is it possible to install both soundcards on the same computer and record 12 tracks simultaneously with cubase sx3 ?

My computer is a AMD X2 4400+ with 2.5GB Ram

They are both ICE1712 chipsets, and they should be able to work together with word clock (check the Knowedge Base here). I am ignorant of Windows, but I have read there are (perhaps) settings in their control panel to use both? They will use the same driver.

I have also read about some combinations (possibly certain combinations of firmware/drivers) that have a problem with this. You can work around that by sending the SPDIF output of one to the SPDIF input of the other. That solution probably won't work for you, because the Delta 44 doesn't have SPDIF in/outs.

Well, the real answer here is.... kinda.

You can not slave the Delta 44 to the 1010lt since it doesn't have the ability to sync to an external clock, like its brother the Delta 66 (which has onboard S/PDIF). Both cards are going to show up in the Delta Control panel and the inputs/outputs will be show up in all DAW's but now your sync'ing the two cards to the PCI bus clock and your going to experience a certain amount of drift between the two cards and your audio tracks.

A much better answer it to replace the Delta 44 with an audio card, preferably another Delta family audio card, with one that has S/PDIF or Wordclock capabilities. Then you salve that card to the 1010lt and you'll have perfect sync between all audio tracks.

Woops, I thought the 44/66 had wordclock. Thanks for clearing that up!
