Default cant recordfs audio in vista with cooledit and cubase

hello all , been havin trouble trying to record audio from my m8's mc-808 and laptop, the sound comes through to my pc fine but i cant reocrd it on any software, i can record a guitar through the mic port in cubase and thats it :S

system is
windows vista business
delta 1010lt
3gb ram
dual core 3.0ghz
nvidia gtx 8800 oc2
heeeeeeeeelp

You need to make sure you've selected the inputs you are connected to on the channels you are trying to record. If the 808 is plugged into inputs 3/4, you need to make sure the track in the software is set to record from inputs 3/4. Check out these FAQ's for configuring your software:

hey thnx for getting back to me, ive got the right channels selected on the software, just a but strange that it will only record the mic input in cubsae, and nothing in cool edit

will keep at it
